Sennheiser UK Becomes Exclusive UK Distributor for K-ArraySennheiser UK is delighted to announce that the Company is now the exclusive distributor of K-Array products in the UK.

At PLASA 2008 Sennheiser UK introduced K-Array to a select group of individuals. Even though these demonstrations were by invitation only, word spread quickly and K-Array became one of PLASA's hottest talking points.

Designed and manufactured in Florence, Italy, K-Array loudspeakers and amplifiers are new and innovative products for the UK Pro Audio market. Created to provide compact, light, unobtrusive, intelligible and, where necessary, loud audio solutions, the K-Array range is ideal for applications where an efficient architectural solution is required without compromise on audio quality.

For medium to large-scale live performance applications, the K-Array range includes the KH4, a self-powered 2-way line array speaker with impressive power reserves that ensure high SPL and consistent high quality audio. Despite being effectively a flat panel speaker, the KH4 is ideal for longer throw applications in large venues. It is only 16cm in depth and weighs just 47Kg, making it ideal for use in compact spaces. The KH4 has been designed to be easily integrated with others K-array products, including the KS4 self-powered dipole high performance subwoofer, which itself is only 16cm in depth, while weighing just 37Kg.

In terms of dispersion, the KH4 offers a variable vertical coverage pattern of between 7 and 37 degrees, and a broad 120-degree horizontal coverage pattern. Both the KH4 and KS4 have been designed for exceptionally fast set-up and dismantling, and both are ideal solutions where space and style are of concern.

The transducers used in the KH4 mid/high packs and the KS4 subwoofer are controlled via internal DSP modules, while dedicated remote control software allows the user to control the speaker from a PC.

K-Array Kobra Systems are compact and ultra-slim speakers designed and built for a variety of specialised applications. These include the KK200 and KK50, ultra-thin three-dimensional array loudspeakers 200cm and 50cm in length respectively. Both provide superb audio quality from their arrays of 2-inch full range long excursion drivers.

The Kobra Systems range also includes the miniature KT20 2-inch point source compact speaker, delivering outstanding audio while weighing only 320g, the KV50, an ultra-slim, ultra-flat three-dimensional array loudspeaker with multiple 1-inch full range drivers, and the KKS50, an ultra-slim line array bass speaker only 50cm long. This paring makes for a loudspeaker system that is inconspicuous without compromising sonic fidelity.

Kobra Systems and all K-Array speakers are ideally paired with the KA range of lightweight, compact, yet highly efficient power amplifiers that take up just one half of 2U of rack space. The entire KA range is electronically protected and features optical limiters and a DSP on-board to drive all K-array products, plus remote control via RS-485 and dedicated audio management software.

"These are exciting times at Sennheiser UK," explained General Manager Phil Massey. "And we're delighted to have been named as sole UK distributor for K-Array. We believe there's going to be a huge demand for K-Array speakers and amplifiers. As many people who attended PLASA can confirm, these products pack incredible punch and audio quality into a revolutionary new concept in loudspeaker design. Coupled with the stylish design we're confident that K-Array products will appeal to all areas of the industry."

"Sennheiser has a long and illustrious history in the audio industry and we look forward to a long and profitable partnership," added Alex Tatini, CEO of K-Array. "We are experiencing strong growth and having Sennheiser on board means that we can gain access more easily to distant markets."

Sennheiser UK's official launch of the K-Array range will take place on the 3rd and 4th December at the EON Suite within the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
