Kano, the MOBO-winning and Brit-nominated MC, is making sure he's been heard loud and clear by using a Sennheiser SKM 935 for his live dates throughout the summer, promoting his forthcoming album, 140 Grime Street.

Fabrice Quirin has been his monitor engineer since last summer and it was his persuading that led to Kano picking up the Sennheiser mic.

"I'd used the SKM 935 on a few occasions when I was working for Britannia Row Productions," explains Quirin. "I always had great results with them, especially in monitors!"

Quirin's hunch was proved correct once the microphone was in Kano's hand.

"I think the 935 works a treat on Kano's vocal," he continues. "He is a bright, loud MC and the high end of the 935 is very soft giving him a smoother sound from the start! The low end is fantastic on these mics. I find it very flattering. Also they can take the volume when set to -30 sensitivity, even though the meter is showing clipping all the way through!"

Both artist and engineer have been delighted to welcome Sennheiser into Team Kano.

"Phil Cummings has been very helpful and efficient at sorting us out with the mics at short notice," promises Quirin. "I'm very much hoping to carry on working with him and Sennheiser on other projects in the future. I would also like to salute Dave Hawker who has always been very helpful with question on any technical issue. It was him that provided most of my advanced radio technical education."
